Obituary

Jean Taggart Allison, 94, of Columbus, died at 7:20 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mrs. Allison was a legal secretary for many years and also was a former court reporter. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Edinburgh Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star and Tri Kappa Sorority. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Dr. Gary Schaar officiating. Calling will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time. Jean Taggart Allison, 94, of Columbus, died at 7:20 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Mrs. Allison was a legal secretary for many years and also was a former court reporter. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Edinburgh Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star and Tri Kappa Sorority.

Born in Bartholomew County May 22, 1917, Mrs. Allison was the daughter of Ira C. and Elsie Andrews Taggart. She married Carl A. Allison Aug. 31, 1940, in Columbus. He preceded her in death Nov. 18, 1976.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane (Scott) Hayes of New Castle; sons, Carl A. (Rosemary) Allison Jr. of Springfield, Mo., and John (Diane) Allison of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
