Jean was born in Dallas on Oct. 25, 1931, the second daughter of Manley and Clara Jones. She was raised in Dallas and Oak Cliff and graduated from Sunset High School in 1948. She received her B.A. degree in journalism from the University of North Texas in 1952. Jean married her high school sweetheart, Richard, in 1952. They had three daughters. Jean loved children and taught kindergarten for 12 years. She was a life member of the Texas PTA and was also very active in her church.

Thanks to the Odyssey Hospice and to those who furnished daily care from Home Instead Senior Care. In particular, thanks to Telisa, Pam, Linda, Arnedria, Maureen, Paul, Debbie and many others too numerous to mention. Because of you, Jean had a life of dignity until her call home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ. We will miss her greatly.

Survivors: Her husband of 60 years, Richard H. Barham; daughters, Julie Sherrell and her husband, Ray, Jeanie Hodde and her husband, Chris, and Jill Daiber; seven grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

"All there is to say is I could not have been blessed with a better Grandmother. She set an example for me that will follow me for my whole life. Thank you..." Maxwell Hodde (McKinney, TX)
