Obituary

Elizabeth Jean Hook, 73, a lifelong Kansas City resident, passed away April 16, 2012 at home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 28 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112. Inurnment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Jean was born February 20, 1939 in Kansas City, Kansas to Loren and Ruby Marie Drummond. She grew up in Armourdale, Kansas and went to Central Junior High. Jean worked at Consolidated Mailing as a machine operator for most of her life and retired in 2001. She enjoyed going to casinos, garage sales and her children's ballgames. Jean loved to read...

Jean was born February 20, 1939 in Kansas City, Kansas to Loren and Ruby Marie Drummond. She grew up in Armourdale, Kansas and went to Central Junior High. Jean worked at Consolidated Mailing as a machine operator for most of her life and retired in 2001. She enjoyed going to casinos, garage sales and her children's ballgames. Jean loved to read and to learn and enjoyed watching the Discovery channel. She was a good cook and homemaker. Jean believed in God and accepted Christ as her savior.
She was preceded in death by her parents Loren and Ruby Marie Drummond and a sister, Ruby Marie Hoosier. Jean is survived by her husband of 57 years, Glenn Taylor Hook, her son Michael Hook and wife Debbie, daughter Linda K. Anderson and husband Joseph Leedrew Anderson, grandson Aaron Hook, grandson Bradley Hook, sister Ella Mae Sullivan, half-brother Loren Drummond, half-sister Lorna Barry, and 6 great-grandchildren.
