Jeffrey Arden Talcott, age 63, of Jacksonville, FL. and formerly of Nicholson, PA. , passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.
Born November 15, 1953 in Scranton, PA. to the late Edward Arden Talcott and Gladys Anderson ( nee Burgess ), he was raised in Factoryville, PA. and was a 1971 graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School.
Jeffrey was a classic car enthusiast. He enjoyed weekend car cruises with friends who he considered extensions of his family. He took great pride in serving as the past president of the Villa Capri Cruisers Car Club Inc. in Scranton, PA. and for supporting local charities in northeastern PA.
In recent years, he spent most of his days enjoying his two grandchildren. He supported both of them at sporting events and school functions. He also enjoyed the time spent with them after school and during the summers.
Jeffrey was an avid reader and loved to travel. He often shared stories of his excursions throughout the country. He had an interest in the history of our country and also in visiting historical destinations and museums.
Jeffrey was a member of San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church, St. John's, FL.
He is survived by his mother, Gladys Anderson and his wife of 43 years, Sandra. He is also survived by his daughter Glenda Towers, her husband Daniel, and his two grandchildren, Kamryn and Nathan. In addition, he is survived by brothers Richard G. Linney ( Wendy ), Edward A. Talcott, Jr. ( the late Roberta ), Gary Talcott, Dean Linney ( Linda ), and sisters Debra Petkavich ( Bill ) and Marlene Linney, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jeffrey is preceded in death by his father Edward A. Talcott, his step-father Gordon Linney, and his mother-in-law Helen Denmon.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 18th at 11 am at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32223 with Father John Tetlow officiating.
Memorial Contributions may be made in his honor to the San Juan Del Rio Parish Life Center, 1714 State Road 13, Saint Johns, FL 32259.
A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends on Saturday, September 2nd at 11 am at the Montdale Country Club, 195 Country Club Road, Jermyn, PA 18433.
