Jeffrey Kelly Harris, born January 31, 1951 in Torrance, CA passed away at St. Helena Hospital, Napa Valley surrounded by family on July 25, 3014. He is preceded by Mother, Jeannette Harris and Father Jack Harris. Survived by his loving wife of 42 years Julie Swanson Harris, his beloved sons: Kelly Harris and Jesse Harris. Sister: Judy Stutz and Brother: Randy Harris. Jeff grew up in Canyon Country CA and moved to Willits, CA in 1975 to teach English at Willits High School. His careers also included Logging, a clown and juggle, solar systems Installation, Poets in the Schools, teaching at New Horizons, Lavida Charter School, Mendocino...

Jeff grew up in Canyon Country CA and moved to Willits, CA in 1975 to teach English at Willits High School. His careers also included Logging, a clown and juggle, solar systems Installation, Poets in the Schools, teaching at New Horizons, Lavida Charter School, Mendocino College, and Environmental Studies for the Coyote Valley Indian Reservation EPA program and operated an Independent study School "Education Unlimited". He was an award winning Handball teacher and coach.
Jeff loved being outdoors: Gardening and working on the homestead, Kayaking, Canoe, Horseback riding, Bike riding, hiking, camping and walking his dog, Lucy. He had a passion for handball. Wrote poetry, songs and played the banjo. Most of all he loved his family and included them everything he pursued.
Friends, neighbors, students and those that knew Jeff and were touched by his life and friendship are welcome to come and celebrate a life well lived.
Memorial/Celebration to be held August 17 at the Recreation Grove in Willits starting at 5:00 PM. Entrée and drinks to be provided please bring pot luck salad, side dish, desert or appetizer. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on and wear your dancing shoes.
