Obituary

Jeffrey Robert Koden, Uncle Jeffies, was tragically taken from us on March 4th, 2012. He was 33 years old. Jeff and his best friend Eric Goms lost their lives in an auto accident in Olympia, WA. They left this world together. He was born on April 9, 1978, on a sunny Sunday. His parents, Rob and Carlynn Koden were blessed with a happy, loving child, with just a touch of mischief. Jeff grew up in Northeast Olympia, playing amongst the firs and cedars with his sisters, friends, and animals. He attended John Rogers Elementary where he played on the baseball team, then to Reeves Middle School where he enjoyed sports and being in the choir....
He attended John Rogers Elementary where he played on the baseball team, then to Reeves Middle School where he enjoyed sports and being in the choir. Jeff graduated from Olympia High School, class of 1996, where he continued in choir and discovered the sport of soccer. He continued on playing club and recreational soccer and made many good friends because of it. Centralia College gave Jeff the opportunity to study the business world and he excelled in his studies and participating in the community. He also attended SPSCC.
Jeff loved his friends and his family, especially his nephews and nieces. He also had a passion for cooking. You could always rely on Jeff to help you out in a time of need, make a good meal, or offer a caring, listening ear.
Living in a cabin in the woods on Libby Road gave Jeff a chance to enjoy the outdoors that he loved so much. He liked to hike, fish, boat and just sit and take in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Jeff lived in Seattle for a year working on his cooking skills, but was drawn back to Olympia.
Jeff is survived by his parents, Rob and Carlynn Koden, sisters Lindsey Koden , and Holly Tollefson (Evan), his nephews, Tyler and Kate Haury, and Landon Koden, nieces Lilly and Laycie Tollefson, all of Olympia, his grandparents Lola Koden of Tacoma, and Duane and Lois Hauge of Olympia, his many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his dog Buddy.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Koden, and his best buddy, his cat, Puff Puff.
Because of Jeff's great love of animals, the family is suggesting that any remembrances go to the Olympia Animal Shelter. shelter@jointanimalservices.org.
We will always remember Jeff for his big heart and loving smile. We'll love you always.
