Jenny Luttrell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 3, 2010.

JENNY HARTMAN LUTRELL

Jenny Hartman Luttrell passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010 in Shreveport, LA due to complications arising from a fall. She was born October 20, 1928 in New Orleans to the late Ernestine Antoinette Henrietta Haro and Henry William Joseph M. Hartmann. She was the devoted wife of L.T. Luttrell until his death on July 5, 2008. Survivors include four children: Charles R. Luttrell and wife Sharon of Covington, Brenda A. Luttrell and husband Edmund Hansen of Gretna, Thomas E. Luttrell of Kenner and Gloria M. Lockhart and husband Claude of Shreveport; nine grandchildren: Steven Luttrell (Angela), Ricky Luttrell, Barbara Becnel, Jill Williams (Britt), Melissa Luttrell, Allison Lockhart, Valerie Lockhart, Claude Lockhart, Jr. and Natalie Lockhart; and six great-grandchildren. Also survived by siblings Henry Hartman (Jo Ann) of Longview, WA, Althea Bosche of Gonzales, LA, Eleanor Dunlap (Donald) of Round Rock, TX, James Hartman (Dolores) of Metairie, Lawrence Hartman (Margaret) of Covington, Albert Hartman, and Elise Smith of Bay St. Louis, MS; sister-in-law Lois Hartman and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by siblings Margaret Herrle Orgeron and Stanley Hartman of the New Orleans area and Rose Payne of Cleveland, Ohio. Jenny was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was devoted to her family and always put the needs of others ahead of her own. She had a keen wit and a kind heart. Above all she enjoyed spending time with family and her friends from the Bible Learner's Class at First Baptist Church of Kenner. She and L.T. also enjoyed time spent with their friends at the Kenner VFW post. Jenny enjoyed traveling (often with James and Dolores to visit Eleanor and Donald) and her occasional trips to Disney World. She leaves as her legacy the qualities that made her special: compassion, kindness, industriousness, loyalty, perseverance and forgiveness that live on in her descendants.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Funeral Services on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 10:00 AM from the Metairie chapel of THARP-SONTHEIMER-THARP, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd. at 43rd Street, with Rev. Mike Miller officiating. Visitation this morning from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Interment in Garden of Memories. Charlie, Brenda, Thomas, and Gloria

I was so sorry to read about your Mothr in the paper. I remember all the good times we had camping out at Fairfield State Park and water sking (I hope this is spellled right). Your father was the best to teach you to ski but after that you were on your own. I hope you all remember me, Harvey Mansfield and I lived next door to you all. Smith and Vonnie along with Allie and Paul and Harvey and I would get together for music playing.

I think about your mother a lot she was a very good neighbor as all of you were. God Bless each one of you as well as your spouses, children and grandchildren.

I now live in Folsom and have married again. My husband is Morgan Rodriguez. Should you ever get to Folsom please look us up.

Myrtle Mansfield Rodriguez.
