Jeremy C. Effing (known by his nieces & nephews as Big J or Bob), 45 of Greensburg, passed away on December 3, 2017 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 5, 1972 in Batesville, Indiana, the son of Ronald and Diane (Wissler) Effing. Jeremy was a 1990 graduate of Batesville High School. He went on to graduate with an engineering degree from Rose Hulman University. On August 18, 2007, he married Amber Gahimer. Jeremy enjoyed hunting with his Father and drift busting with his friends. He loved spending time with his wife, dog, family, and friends. Every year he helped fry turkeys for the Thanksgiving Dinner for the Bread of Life. He started the Tree City First Responders Jeep Club. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church. Shortly after college, he worked for Barth & Associates for several years, then went to work for Wagner Truss Manufacturing for 11 years in Napoleon, Indiana. He took over his father's business in 2014, Effing and Norton Construction. He never knew a stranger and was loved by all.
