Obituary

Jerrie Lavonne Allison, 76, of Temple, TX passed from this life on Friday evening, the 30th of November, to meet her Lord and savior. She was born on the 9th of February 1936, to the late Ralph Cole and Wilma Holburn, of Illinois. Jerrie was a longtime resident of the Temple/Troy area. She was married to the late Dennis Woodard Allison, USAF retired, who preceded her in death in Oct. of 2001. She has three surviving sisters. Sharon Lightfoot of Centralia, Washington, Linda Davidson of Centralia, Washington, and Claudia Cooper of Danville, Illinois. Jerrie Lavonne Allison, 76, of Temple, TX passed from this life on Friday evening, the 30th of November, to meet her Lord and savior.

She was born on the 9th of February 1936, to the late Ralph Cole and Wilma Holburn, of Illinois. Jerrie was a longtime resident of the Temple/Troy area. She was married to the late Dennis Woodard Allison, USAF retired, who preceded her in death in Oct. of 2001.

She has three surviving sisters. Sharon Lightfoot of Centralia, Washington, Linda Davidson of Centralia, Washington, and Claudia Cooper of Danville, Illinois.

She is survived by five grown children, Toby Wills of Searcy, Arkansas, Trudy Wills, of Houston, Texas, Danny Wills of Morgan's Point, Texas, Thomas Allison of Round Rock, Texas, and Colin Allison of Little River, Texas.

Jerrie was the proud grandmother of 18 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren, residing in Texas and Arkansas, and Virginia.

She was retired child-daycare provider, a long-time member of Temple Bible Church and the Temple Exchange Club, and a member of the Tanglefoot Extension club. She has also served as past President of the American Legion auxiliary. She loved Bingo, and was an avid music, sports, and San Diego Chargers fan.

Jerrie has given much to numerous charities and U.S. Veterans groups across the country, including Wounded Veterans, and the Disabled American Veterans. She was recognized as a faithful and longtime contributor to aid Native American Indian organizations.


Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 pm – 8:00 on Tuesday, December 4th at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Temple, Texas.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, December 5th at 10AM at Temple Bible Church in Temple, Texas.
