An avid baseball enthusiast, Jerry was a long suffering Cleveland Indians fan. He was an active lifelong member of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) and served as Vice President (1980-1982.)
Jerry was an ardent supporter of the Alexandria Dukes/Prince William Cannons/Potomac Nationals minor league baseball team. His passion for baseball and the rules of the game was a philosophy of life. One of his greatest joys was visiting minor league baseball stadiums and talking baseball with local residents.
Jerry was a Navy veteran and employed by the Department of Defense at the Pentagon for most of his career.
Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Estelle Gregory on January 29, 2013, Jerry is survived by his five children, Stephanie, Peter, Jerry, Jeffrey & Jennifer, and several grandchildren.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date at baseball fields across the nation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you support your local minor league baseball team.
