Jerry Carl Meissner went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2017 in Houston, Texas. He had just celebrated his 79th birthday.
Jerry was born in Warren, Texas on May 28, 1938. He graduated from Warren High School, where he was a star athlete. Jerry was offered several scholarships for basketball and selected Lamar University. He became an avid golfer in early adulthood and was a fan of all sports. His favorite teams were the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys.
Jerry met Gloria Herring in 1959 and it was love at first site. They were married July 2, 1960 in Eagle Pass, Texas. His career took him down many paths giving him a love of people and an amazing work ethic, which he passed on to his daughters. He never met a stranger. Jerry's generous heart, his wisdom and support have touched countless lives.
He had a passion for Jesus Christ and could always be found sharing his faith. Jerry and Gloria were active members at First Euless.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Gloria Irene Herring Meissner and his daughter, Michelle Meissner; his daughter, Natalie Cunningham and her husband Clifton Cunningham; his daughter Nicole Nehring and her husband Bradford Nehring; along with eight grandchildren, Mika Meissner, Corbin Cunningham, Cameron Cunningham, Ashlan Cunningham, Evan Nehring, Ryan Nehring, Nolan Nehring and Shawn Nehring.
Jerry Meissner's family will celebrate and honor his life on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. In the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.
