On Wednesday, April 17th, 2013, Jerry Dwayne Fuller was worshipping the beauty of God's magnificent creation, while enjoying his love for riding his motorcycle through the Blue Ridge Mountains when God called him home to his reward in heaven. Jerry was born November 9, 1941 in Richland Parrish, Louisiana to Otis and Odis Fuller.
Jerry graduated from Rayville High School in Rayville, Louisiana and enlisted in the Air Force. In 1962, he was transferred to Dyess AFB, Texas where he met and married the love of his life, Wanda Parsons Fuller of Abilene on June 27, 1964. Jerry continued to serve his country in the Air Force National Guard and the 490th Civil Affairs Reserve Unit. In January 1991, he was recalled to active service for Operation Desert Storm until he retired in 1993. Jerry was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Abilene, Texas and achieved the position of 32nd Degree Master Mason.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Otis Fuller of Rayville, Louisiana (1945); daughter Stacy Fuller of Abilene, Texas in 2007; and granddaughter, Victoria Robb of Dover, Ohio in 2008.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Wanda Fuller of Abilene, Texas; his mother, Odis Fuller of Rayville, Louisiana; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Jeffery Robb of Sewickley, Pennsylvania; daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Richard Kumple of Abilene, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Peggy Fuller of Rayville, Louisiana; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dayland and Kay Parsons of Abilene, and Wayland and Ellen Parsons of Bedford, Texas; five grandsons, Justin, Austin, Jackson and Jeffrey Robb, and Richard Kumple; and two granddaughters, Catherine and Hannah Fuller.
Jerry was the picture of a proud grandfather and could talk and show pictures at a moment's notice and never met a stranger no matter where he went and was loved by all. He served his God and his country proudly and will be sadly missed by all.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Southwest Park Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas, with Pastor Mike Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory Street, Abilene. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
