Jerry Smith, son of T. H. Smith, Sr. and Eliza Jane Stoutamire of Holly Hill SC, passed away on December 28, 2012. Jerry honorably served his country as a valued member of the United States Air Force for more than 28 years. With military retirement, Jerry opened a real estate business, Jerry Smith Realty in Goose Creek, SC, fueling the local economy of the greater Charleston metropolitan area. After retiring for a second time, Jerry and Margaret moved to Maryland to be closer to family.
Jerry is survived by Margaret C. Smith his loving wife for more than 52 years, and his daughters and son in laws Katherine and John Kobza of Texas and Allison and Steve Dennis of Maryland. He adored his four grandchildren, Kate & Christine Kobza, Elizabeth & Samuel Dennis.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, January 3, 2012 at the Charlestown Retirement Village, 715 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD, 21228, Our Lady of the Angels Chapel, at 10:30am with funeral services following at 11:30am. On Friday, January 4, 2012, military graveside services will be held at 10 am at the Crownsville Veteran's Cemetery, located at 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville MD 21032.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Holly Hill United Methodist Church, 1048 Peake Street, Holly Hill, SC 29059.
