JERRY LYNN VAUGHAN, 74, our dear father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on April 11, 2014. Jerry was born May 11, 1939 in Galveston, Texas. He was a graduate of Kirwin High School in Galveston and the University of Houston. Jerry was well-loved by his family; an avid sailor and writer; and his love of life, optimism, and resilience is an inspiration for all. Jerry is survived by his son, Jerry L. Vaughan, Jr.; daughters Kristen Vaughan Huntley and Karen Vaughan Lynch; sons-in-law Clayton Huntley and Robert Lynch; and grandchildren Steven & Isabel Huntley and Nicole & Benjamin Lynch. JERRY LYNN VAUGHAN, 74, our dear father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on April 11, 2014. Jerry was born May 11, 1939 in Galveston, Texas. He was a graduate of Kirwin High School in Galveston and the University of Houston. Jerry was well-loved by his family; an avid sailor and writer; and his love of life, optimism, and resilience is an inspiration for all.
Jerry is survived by his son, Jerry L. Vaughan, Jr.; daughters Kristen Vaughan Huntley and Karen Vaughan Lynch; sons-in-law Clayton Huntley and Robert Lynch; and grandchildren Steven & Isabel Huntley and Nicole & Benjamin Lynch. Jerry is also survived by his sister, Betty Castiglioni; sister-in-law Oralee Vaughan; sisters-in-law Pauline Roark and Kathy Duplissey; brothers-in-law Jimmy Roark and Clyde Duplissey; and 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maridell Roark Vaughan; his parents, Bert Rosencrance Vaughan and Olivia Stanley Vaughan; his sister, Lillian Vaughan; and his brother, Jesse "Buster" Vaughan.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 pm, Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Chapel, 21620 Gulf Freeway (I-45), Webster, TX 77598. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent in memory of Jerry Vaughan to the Rotary Club Foundation of Galveston, Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 810, Galveston, TX 77553.
