Jesse Herrera, 67, of Greeley, died Friday, August 1, 2014 at Hospice of Northern Colorado inpatient unit. Jesse was born on May 2, 1947 in Yakima, Washington to John and Cora (Gonzalez) Herrera. Jesse's family moved to Greeley when he was a child. He grew up and attended Greeley schools. After his education, he worked at Monfort of Colorado. He also pastored for several years in churches in Texas. He was a gifted musician and played in gospel groups. On June 17, 1967 he married Cora Pisano at First Assembly of God in Greeley. They later divorced. Jesse loved cars. He also loved to joke around and had a wonderful sense of humor....
Jesse Herrera, 67, of Greeley, died Friday, August 1, 2014 at Hospice of Northern Colorado inpatient unit. Jesse was born on May 2, 1947 in Yakima, Washington to John and Cora (Gonzalez) Herrera.

Jesse's family moved to Greeley when he was a child. He grew up and attended Greeley schools. After his education, he worked at Monfort of Colorado. He also pastored for several years in churches in Texas. He was a gifted musician and played in gospel groups.

On June 17, 1967 he married Cora Pisano at First Assembly of God in Greeley. They later divorced.

Jesse loved cars. He also loved to joke around and had a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing and loved to play the guitar and sing gospel music. He recorded two albums, "All Alone He Had To Die" and "A Brand New Life A Coming".

Above all he loved sharing his faith about the Lord. He was a member of The Upper Room, Federal Heights in the Denver area.

Jesse is survived by his former wife, Cora Pisano of Bloomington, Illinois; a daughter, Lisa Lauer (Kurt) of Greeley; two sons, Jason Herrera (Teresa) of Bloomington, Illinois and Shaun Herrera (Chantinatay) of Greeley; his father, John Herrera of Greeley; four sisters, Pearl Martinez of Brighton, Dorothy Orozco (Arturo), Andrea Serna (Chris) and Ruby Ramirez (Lauriano) all of Greeley; a brother, John Herrera, Jr. (Maria) of Greeley; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Herrera, a sister, Dolores Juarez and a brother, Manuel Herrera.

Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 3425 West 6th Street, Greeley.
