– Jessie Linthicum, age 86, of San Angelo, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013, while surrounded by her loved ones.
Jessie Linthicum was born January 12, 1927 in Ballinger, Texas to Doug and Nettie (Crooks) Williams.
Family Visitation will be Sunday, August 18, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2013 at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with Mills Caraway officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
She married the love of her life, J.H. Linthicum, February 20, 1946. He preceded her in death February 14, 1992.
She was also preceded in death by both parents; one sister Jewel Walls; three brothers Jay L. Williams, Shine Williams and Lloyd Williams; and by her special mother in-law, Allie Linthicum and father in-law Millard L. Linthicum.
Most of her life Mom was a homemaker raising seven children. Later on in life, Mom and Dad took in many foster children. For several years she worked for Lake View Cafeteria, where she enjoyed visiting with students and staff. She enjoyed singing and whistling songs. Even in her late stages of Alzheimer's she could remember the words to her favorite songs as well as sing to her family and friends.
Jessie is survived by her two sons and their spouses in San Angelo: J.H. (Jody) and Sam Linthicum and Art and Nikki Linthicum; four daughters and their spouses in San Angelo: Wanda Sue and Jerry Brooks, Jan and Joel Mulkey, Connie Linthicum, and Kathy and Randy Howard; one daughter and her spouse in Wimberley: Patricia (Sissy) and Gary Schrader. She is also survived by 35 grandchildren and their spouses: Misty and Bill Stephens, Tammy and Scott Pape, Jessica and Shawn Neader, Jason and Brooke Mulkey, Stacie Burnside, Aaron Linthicum, Marcus and Jeanna Shields, Jadie Hernandez, Chrystal and Jesse Johnson, Jennifer and Stephen Marburger, Regina and Will Hartnett, Kara and Eric Samaniego, Brandi and John Anderson, Heather and Layne Simpson, Kate Schrader, Sam Schiwart, Justin Linthicum, Molly Atnip, Kolton and Sarah Linthicum, Dalton Linthicum, Jessica Flint, Lane Linthicum and Jaylee Linthicum. Her life was even more enriched with her 26 great-grandchildren, one on the way and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Jason Mulkey, Justin Linthicum, Kolton Linthicum, Marcus Shields, Dalton Linthicum and Lane Linthicum. Honorary Pallbearer will be Aaron Linthicum.
A special thanks to the CNAs and friends at Meadow Creek Nursing Home, Megan with Odyssey Hospice and family friends. Donations may be made in Jessie's name to the Alzheimer's Association or the West Texas Boys Ranch.
