JESSIE M. (LORI) SKELTON, 87, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany, Indiana. The daughter of the late Michael E. and Genevieve (Schulte) Lori, Jessie was born August 3, 1929 in New Albany. She was a retired travel clerk and logistician with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. She was a life-long member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville, Indiana and member of the Daughters of Isabella. Jessie was an avid bunco and euchre player and traveled extensively. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Skelton; an infant son, Thomas G. Skelton; and siblings, Marie Pirtle, Rose Ann Bowman, Irma Eaton, and Melvin Lori.
Survivors include her children, Genevieve L. Harvey (Jim), Cynthia A. Faught, and Stephen M. Skelton (Raven); siblings, Frank H. Lori, Sr. (Margaret) and Freda Jahn; brothers-in-law, Fred Eaton and Carson Skelton; grandchildren, James, Matthew, Janet, Robin, Noah, Jeremiah, Autumn, and Savannah; 19 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, June 9th and after 8:00 am Saturday, June 10th at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. There will be a Rosary Service at 2:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with entombment to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany, Indiana.
Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 316 N. Sherwood Avenue, Clarksville, Indiana 47129 or WHAS Crusade for Children.
