Biography

Jesus Gonzalez Villagomez entered into heavenly rest on Friday, February 11, 2011 at the age of 101. Jesus was born in Rancho San Nicolas Villa Morelos, Michoacan, Mexico on May 5, 1909. He is preceded in death by his parents, Telesforo Villagomez and Antonia Gonzalez; brothers Francisco, Ignacio and sisters Carmen and Chana; and his wife of 53 years, Mariana Aguillon Villagomez. Jesus migrated to the United States on July 24, 1928 and worked his way doing odd jobs, all the way up to Fargo, North Dakota where he worked as a meat inspector for Armour and Company for many years until his retirement in 1970. While living in Crystal City, Texas he returned to Saltillo, Mexico to marry the love of his life and companion. He enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling and talking about his days during the Mexican Revolution, but his favorite subject was encouraging his family to obtain the highest level of education, which is reflected now in his children and grandchildren. He is survived by children, Maria Antonieta Villagomez, Jesse Villagomez, Jr., step-daughter, Guadalupe Nuncio Mendoza; grandchildren, Juanpablo Villagomez, Badi Villagomez (Deborah), Martha Villagomez Morrison (Dr. Kevin Morrison) and Dr. Amelia Villagomez.
