Jewel Lorene Bradford, age 65, died Friday, April 9, 2010 in Wichita Falls, Texas. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2010 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Todd Derbyshire officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dutton Funeral Home. Jewel was born June 24, 1944 in Ralls, Texas to Lawrence Burton and Anna Alice (Harden) Harris. She and Eldon Thompson, Jr. were married January 11, 1964. He preceded her in death, December 14, 1978. She and James Douglas Bradford were married January 6, 1996. She worked for John B. Barbour Trucking Company until 1980; she then went to work for Wichita Oxygen Supply...
Jewel Lorene Bradford, age 65, died Friday, April 9, 2010 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2010 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Todd Derbyshire officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dutton Funeral Home.

Jewel was born June 24, 1944 in Ralls, Texas to Lawrence Burton and Anna Alice (Harden) Harris. She and Eldon Thompson, Jr. were married January 11, 1964. He preceded her in death, December 14, 1978. She and James Douglas Bradford were married January 6, 1996. She worked for John B. Barbour Trucking Company until 1980; she then went to work for Wichita Oxygen Supply Company where she worked as Office Manager until 1997. She accepted a job in the ordering department of TexRec until 2004. She went to work part-time for Jimmy Bankhead at Bankhead Operating on Monday and Tuesday and Marvin Groves at Groves Electric, running his office for the rest of the week. Jewel was a member of the Optimist Diplomatic Corps where she received a Service Award for 1982-83. She was a charter member and President for the Red River and Sunrise Optimist Clubs. She was the first female Governor of Optimist International, North Texas Division.

Jewel loved working with ceramics and porcelain and over the years won: 9-1st Place ribbons, 3-2nd Place ribbons, 2-3rd Place ribbons and 1 Honorable mention.

Her parents and first husband preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, James Douglas Bradford of Wichita Falls; daughter, Jana Thompson of Sedona, Arizona; step-daughter, Melissa Trejo of Wichita Falls; step-sons, Steve Bradford and James Bradford, Jr. of Wichita Falls; sisters, Millie Larassa of Grand Prairie and Laverne Cate of Canton; brothers, Ernest Harris of Dallas and Jim Harris, Sr. of Ralls, Texas; grandchildren, Candice Miser, Lyndsey Dwyer and Regan Trejo all of Wichita Falls and William Bradford and great grandchildren, Collin (CJ) and Bryson.

Visitation will be at Dutton Funeral Home, Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 6:30 until 8 p.m.
