MANSFIELD, TEXAS -- Jillian Michelle Smith died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2010. Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Arlington. A candle light service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the church with the wake to follow from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Interment will be in Moore Memorial Gardens. Jillian Michelle Smith was born on Dec. 18, 1986, to Douglas and Sonya Smith in Arlington. The youngest of two daughters, she attended all levels of grade school in Arlington and graduated from Juan Seguin High School in 2005. Jillian continued her education at the University of Texas at Arlington graduating cum laude with a bachelor's degree in criminology and criminal justice in 2009. Jillian fulfilled her life's dream of protecting the city she grew up in on Aug. 20, 2010, when she graduated from the Arlington Police Academy.
Jillian accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Mount Olive Baptist Church. She was a member of the Mount Olive Youth Choir.
While dedicated to her work, she loved spending quality time with her family and friends. Jillian enjoyed life to the fullest and had the rare ability to leave a wonderful impression on everyone she met. Her smile will always shine bright in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Survivors: Many wonderful memories of her life are cherished by her parents, Douglas and Sonya Smith; her sister, Jessica Smith; her nephew, Cameron Smith; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
