Jimmie C. Miller, 85, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013. He was a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, was raised in Georgetown, Louisiana and was a resident of Hampton for 50 plus years. Mr. Miller was a 1951 graduate of Louisiana Tech and retired from NASA Langley after 37 years of faithful employment. A Veteran of the US Army, Jimmie served during the Korean War. He was a member of Hampton Baptist Church and also a previous member of Sportsman Hunt Club in New Kent.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Betty Miller; infant son, James C. Miller as well as his parents. He is survived by sons, Mark Miller (Anita) of Herndon, VA, and Ted Miller (Deborah) of Providence Forge, VA; several cousins and extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Jimmie's life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 9, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to American Heart Association, 500 E. Plume Street, Ste. 110, Norfolk, VA 23510.

I worked with Jimmie when he first came to NACA/NASA and when he returned to NASA after serving in the Army. Jimmie was always very kind and considerate and was well respected by those who worked with and for him. My condolences to you.
