Jimmy Ramsey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 27, 2016.

Jimmy (Mostafa) Esmaili Ramsey, 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2016 after a courageous fight against cancer. He is survived by: his wife of 41 years, Lillian Ivanaki; his son and daughter in-law, David and Katy Ramsey; and their two daughters, Ava and Madeline.

Jimmy was born on June 13, 1945 in Tehran, Iran. After growing up as the eldest of 6 siblings, he set his sights on a life in the United States and landed in Texas to attend Texarkana College. Jimmy met lifelong friends who continue to tell stories from those days. While working a summer gig in California he met a strawberry-blonde named Lillian. They were married, and soon after they had their first son, David. Jimmy graduated from UT-Arlington with a business degree and worked tirelessly to support his family. In 1980, they settled in a small town that very few had ever heard of: Coppell, Texas. Ten years later, Jimmy's family grew with his second son, Michael. Jimmy taught his sons the importance of hard work and was not afraid to apply tough fatherly love when needed. David and Michael followed in their dad's footsteps, waiting tables until they graduated college. Jimmy was proud of his sons' successes, and often telling them, "there's nothing wrong with wanting to be a millionaire."

Throughout his life, Jimmy enjoyed spending time with friends, visiting his family in Houston, heading down to Galveston for the day, riding motorcycles with Michael, attending his nieces’ and nephews’ graduations, watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns, drawing in his sketch book, family dinners at Pappasito's or Pappadeaux's, and spending time with his grandkids!

Jimmy was loved by many and had an uncanny ability to endear himself to the people he worked with. Jimmy will be missed, but he is now reunited with Michael. Rest in Peace.
