Jimmy Lamar Little, age 74, a resident of Saraland since 1969, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. Jimmy was employed by CSX Railroad as a Car Shop Foreman, having worked in the Mobile office for many years and then in Nashville, TN and Montgomery, AL for a few years, retiring in 1998. He contributed to his community of Saraland as a volunteer fireman and the first volunteer trained EMT, serving currently as a member of the Public Safety Advisory Board. He is a member of the Central Church of Christ, having been baptized as a youth in his home church of Cedar Grove Church of Christ in Andalusia where his grandfather Stokes was a co-founder and elder. Jimmy was a graduate of Pleasant Home School in Andalusia and enjoyed many years of friendship with fellow graduates. His hobbies included golf, fishing, Auburn sports and most especially softball. He played softball in the church league and was a boys' coach for Little League and Babe Ruth in earlier years. He especially enjoyed watching his younger daughter Laura play competitive softball and then his granddaughter, Mary Emily as she played softball for many years, through her college years. He was an avid supporter of the USA Jaguars Ladies Softball program, through all of which he was affectionately known by many as "Big Daddy." In his "spare time" he enjoyed time in the backyard swing on the pergola constructed by himself and grandson, Ryan! Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Duncan Cullen and Lurlie Rae Stokes Little, brother Cullen Stokes Little, nephew Brian Little, brother-in-law Dennis W. Pruitt and sister-in-law Connie P.
