Jimmy Don Brown, Jr., age 56, passed away in Austin, Texas on July 3, 2010.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2010 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home, Iowa Park, Texas.
Jimmy was born March 24, 1954 in Wichita Falls, Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas to Mary Ann and Jimmy Don Brown, Sr. of Iowa Park, Texas.
He is survived by his children, Mandy Brown, 24 and Dusty Brown, 23, both of Austin, Texas; his mother, Mary Ann Davis-Ezell of Wichita Falls; sisters, Venisa Moye of Watauga, Texas and Karen Jordan of Wichita Falls, Texas; his best friend and ex-wife, Judy Brown of Austin, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1972 and from Midwestern State University in 1987, with a degree in chemistry. He worked as a chemist for SASOL Oil Company and retired in 2006. During his career as a chemist, he developed and patented several formulas in the processing of aluminum. Since his retirement he has worked as a substitute teacher for WFISD. He was an active member of the Sierra Club. He recently relocated to Austin, Texas to be closer to his children.
His father, Jimmy Don Brown, Sr., his grandparents, Jack and Annabelle Davis and Sampie and Vera Mae Brown and a niece, Alexis Moye preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, July 8, 2010, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home.
