THE AMAZING LIFE OF JOANN McCLURE
November 10, 1931 – October 14, 2016

JoAnn McClure, age 84, of The Woodlands, Texas, went to her forever home in heaven on October 14, 2016. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on November 10, 1931 to parents, Robert N. and Elizabeth Allyn. She graduated from Omaha Tech High School. On April 1, 1950, she married Raymond L. McClure, Sr. She was an accounting clerk in the mortgage loan department for Couch Mortgage Company in Houston, Texas, before suffering a brain aneurysm at age 32 which left her paralyzed on the left side of her body. She overcame the paralysis and continued to live a full and joyful life and never considered herself handicapped. She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church and had a passion for helping and encouraging other people. She always enjoyed watching and cheering for Houston's professional sports teams.

She is survived by her son, Raymond L. McClure, Jr., (and his wife, Rita McClure) of The Woodlands, Texas; her sister, Mary Welcer of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; and sister, Betty Schooler of Lincoln, Nebraska. She has many nieces and nephews.

JoAnn's Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, October 18, at 11:00 am at Forest Park Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384.

My Aunt Joann was my favorite Aunt. She was funny and kind and we had alot of fun dancing. I was named after her and was proud of that because I would like to think I was alot like her. The hope from the Bible says I will see her again here on the earth when she is resurrected. I can't wait. I'll miss you for now.

I am so happy that I got to visit Aunt JoAnn last year and to be able to talk on the phone once in a while. I will always remember the fun times at Gma Allyn's playing crouquet in the side yard on Sundays. She is out of pain now and even though I will miss her I am relieved she is not suffering anymore. And so sorry for you Butch & Rita. She was a beautiful and brave person. All my love, Frankie

Raymond & Rita, For the last 8 years "Sam" and I have visited Jo Ann at Regent Health Care. Despite her physical limitations she was a joy. I learned so much from her about life and the power of positive thinking. Even though she had physical problems her mind was sharp and she had a great sense of humor. I will never forget Jo Ann - she was my heroine...
