CARLSON, (POTRATZ), JoAnn Loreen (79)
With her family by her side JoAnn passed away peacefully from a three year battle of cancer
on April 1, 2013. She was born July 19, 1933 in Pierre, South Dakota to Walter and Violet
Potratz. She grew up in the mountains above Hauser Lake, Idaho and graduated from Rathdrum
High School in 1953. After graduating, she joined the United States Air Force and was stationed
at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio Texas. While on furlough she met Mylon Stanley Carlson
whom she married. She resided in Greenacres, WA for the past sixty years. She was preceded in
death by her son Terry Carlson, her husband, Mylon Carlson, her father Walter Potratz and her
brother, Kurt Potratz. She is survived by her mother, Violet Potratz, brother and sister-in-law,
Gary and Rosalie Potratz, sister-in-law, Bonita Potratz, daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Howie
Pederson, daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Mallicoat and Kevin Herring, daughter Tanya Sargent,
son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Michelle Ninness, granddaughters, Maryann Mallicoat, Dawn
Renee McBane, Savannah Sargent, Chelsea Adamson, and Raechel Ninness. Grandson Tyler
Sargent and granddaughter-in-law Lisa Sargent. grandson-in-law Cole Adamson and twin
great-grandsons, Damian and Edan Bell. She is also survived by much loved family and friends.
We'll always cherish the memories of fishing trips, holidays, famous words, vacations, her beautiful
flowers and hearty laughter. Many thanks to Gentiva Hospice and the Cheney Care Center. In
lieu of flowers please remember Gentiva Hospice. Visitation will be held Monday April 8, 2013 from
10:00-1:00pm with Funeral services beginning at 2:00pm at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Colonial Chapel

Dear Potratz family,
We are very sorry about your loss. Hopefully you know she is at peace now and our hope is that she knew her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We pray you are all comforted and at peace knowing her suffering is over.
Joann was a very sweet and cheerful person. We know she will be greatly missed.
