Joan Carolyn Russ of Coronado California, formerly of Louisville Kentucky, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on May 15 2017.
Born Joan Carolyn Hemrich in New York to George and Catherine, she grew up in Jamaica, Queens NY. In addition to being a loving mother and home maker, she was active in the Coronado Hospital Auxiliary as a volunteer, which provides services to support the advancement of the Hospital and foundation. While living in Louisville, she worked as a store manager of a specialty shop for 20 years. Joan was an active member of the Westport Road Baptist Church, and previously attended Southeast Christian Church. She enjoyed her Bible study groups and participated in Quilting, sewing, and assorted crafting groups associated with the church that donated to the less fortunate.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents George and Catherine Hemrich, devoted wife of the late Albert W. Russ. She is survived by William Russ and wife Victoria of Coronado, Joanne Wells (Matt) of Texas, Diane Campbell (Ed) of Oklahoma, Lynn Jester (Lynn) of Louisville, grandmother of 8, and many great grand children. A lifelong loving bond with sister Shirley Phillips of Nashua NH and her four sons Bob, Joe, Pat and Tom.
She will be laid to rest at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, KY on June 10, 2017 at 11:00 A.M.
