I remember my Aunt Joan as a fun and cool Aunt to be around. I think her being a schoolteacher gave her the ability to relate to two wild boys who would come visit Birmingham. We have good memories as Aunt Joan has moved on to a good place.

"Mrs. Putman" was my teacher and, later, frequent kid sitter. What a warm and kind woman. I used to love going to her house on English Circle. I remember that she had cable (a novelty in those days!), and it was at her house that I was introduced to ESPN... when their programming consisted of off-beat sports like speedboat racing. Susie- my sincere condolences...your mother was such an important and loving part of my and my brother's early life.
