Joan M. Wilson, 85, of Toms River, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Red Bank, Middletown, and Naples, FL prior to moving to Toms River. Joan worked in Finance and Accounting at Ft. Monmouth as a Travel Pay Clerk and also as a Keypunch Operator. She enjoyed travel, music and art, and was an avid reader.
She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Beatrice Bigge, her sister, Doris Duckers, and her beloved husband, Kenneth Wilson. She is survived by her three children, Ken Wilson and wife Donna, Karen Thomas and husband Michael and Janice Koelsch and husband Kevin; six grandchildren, Michael Thomas, Kendall Rodgers, Kandice Koelsch, Kevin Koelsch, Daryl Wilson and Kelsey Wilson; five cherished great grandchildren, Michael, Shane, Declan, Kaylee and Keira and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 9th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with a prayer service held at 8:00 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River. Cremation will be private. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Joan was a very kind, thoughtful person. She was friendly and always enjoyed her neighbors and friends in the community. She certainly will be missed by all who knew her.

I was so very sorry to hear about my dear friend, Joan. We met through an astrology class, which we lived and breathed. She was the most caring and loving person I have ever known, and her family was her whole life. My sincere condolences to all of them.

Joan was a wonderful, thoughtful, considerate, helpful neighbor and friend. She was always there to help with anything anyone needed. Her artwork was beautiful and delighted many.
