Mrs. Beacham, 70, passed away Friday, October 14, 2011. Her life will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Monday, October 17th in the chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral Home with the Reverend David Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Mrs. Beacham's family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
Born October 4, 1941, Mrs. Beacham was a daughter of the late Phillip Gerald Wyman and Gertrude Burchill Wyman. Prior to retirement she was employed with Carolinas Medical Center as Security Administrator. She also volunteered for ten years with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, as well as three years with the Red Cross.
She is also remembered for her love of traveling, gardening, ceramics, volunteering and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Beacham's family includes her daughter, Michelle Beacham Stack, and her son, Michael Gerald Beacham, both of Charlotte; and five grandchildren, Devon Robert Stack and LeAnna Marie Stack, both of Charlotte, Phillip Beacham of Greenville, NC, and Christopher Beacham and Danielle Beacham, also of Charlotte.
Her husband, Doss Earl Beacham, preceded her in death.
Memorials may be sent to Covenant United Methodist Church, 6824 Tuckaseegee Rd., Charlotte, NC 28214 or to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, 2424 N. Davidson St., Suite 110, Charlotte, NC 28205.

Joan will be sorely missed here at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department as her volunteer service and lively personality made a huge impact in the lives of the CMPD staff who worked with her and the community.
