GIESE, Joan, 76, of Tampa, entered into the presence of the Lord, June 27, 2014. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, and lived in Queens where she met and married her husband of 43 years. In 1971, they moved their family to Tampa, where Joan became a dedicated employee of Maas Brothers until its closing in 1991. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Port Tampa, where she faithfully ministered to others and generously shared her gift of music as church pianist for 25 years. Her life centered around creating happy memories with her family and friends, especially on holidays and birthdays. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Giese, in 2007; sister, Kathleen Simmons; and infant brother, Paul Busch. She is survived by her son, Howard (Lori) Giese; daughter, Laura (Alex) Demid; sisters, Carol (Ron) Calverley, Barbara Garofolo, Sally (Dick) Finnerty; grandchildren, Stephanie (Justin) Cournoyer, Brittany Giese, Timothy Demid, John Demid, Joseph Demid, Stephen Demid; and great-grandson, Sean Cournoyer. Visitation will be held 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., Saturday, July 5th, at First Baptist Church of Port Tampa, 8306 Interbay Blvd., Tampa, FL 33616, with funeral service to follow immediately. She will be laid to rest at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, Brandon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to the Suzanne Ciani Brain Cancer Foundation http://scbraincancer.org. Joan was well loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but will live on in their hearts and memories.

I just looked through all these pictures of you through the years What memories. So many at the Ranch House. You loved that place and I loved going there with you for dinner. I will miss our meals and the long talks we shared there. I will think of you everytime I go. Rest in Peace now.
