SAYLOR, JOAN A., 54, of Valley Station, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 after a long heroic and valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Mrs. Saylor while surrounded by her family was sent to Heaven, in the arms of Jesus as her father W.F. Green and other family members that had went before her were there also awaiting her arrival. Joan was born October 15, 1957 in Bartow, FL a few years later along with her parents moved to Valley Station. She went on to graduate from Stuart High School. She later married, Gene Heavrin and they went on to have three beautiful children, even though they divorced they remained friends until his death...
SAYLOR, JOAN A., 54, of Valley Station, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 after a long heroic and valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

Mrs. Saylor while surrounded by her family was sent to Heaven, in the arms of Jesus as her father W.F. Green and other family members that had went before her were there also awaiting her arrival.

Joan was born October 15, 1957 in Bartow, FL a few years later along with her parents moved to Valley Station. She went on to graduate from Stuart High School. She later married, Gene Heavrin and they went on to have three beautiful children, even though they divorced they remained friends until his death in 2011.

In March of 1992 Joan met Homer Saylor and they married July 30, 1993, Joan then became a loving stepmother to Homer's five children.

In October 2002 Joan along with her best friend and step-daughter, started up C&J Cleaning. On May 2011 Joan was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, on Thursday May 10, 2012, Joan went to rest and to be with her father William Franklin Green.

Joan is survived by her loving husband, Homer L. Saylor; her mother, Catherine Thomas Green; sister, Brenda Woods and #1 Dennis Woods; daughter, Allison Duvall, (Wes); sons, Douglas, (Teri) and Jacob Heavrin; her loving stepchildren, Rolen, J.P. , Robbie, (Abby) and Timmy Saylor (Heather); her best friend and stepdaughter, Connie Blessitt (Keith); 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; she is also survived by her two little boyz, Buster Brown and Sonny Boy Brown, they both miss their mommy terribly.

Her funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the W.G. Hardy Funeral Home, 10907 Dixie Hwy. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 1-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the family.
