Jody Winston Hudson, 40, died on April 28. He was a devoted son and brother who reached out to all in need. While homebound most of the time the last few years, it didn't stop him from showing his love and care by calling frequently to check up on those in his life. He loved his Tarheels dearly and watched every football and basketball game he could. With equally as much passion, he despised "Dook". He loved his nieces and nephews and was sure to call them for their birthdays, check to see how they played after they finished their basketball and soccer games, and make a point of visiting them when they were in town over at his...
Jody Winston Hudson, 40, died on April 28. He was a devoted son and brother who reached out to all in need. While homebound most of the time the last few years, it didn't stop him from showing his love and care by calling frequently to check up on those in his life. He loved his Tarheels dearly and watched every football and basketball game he could. With equally as much passion, he despised "Dook". He loved his nieces and nephews and was sure to call them for their birthdays, check to see how they played after they finished their basketball and soccer games, and make a point of visiting them when they were in town over at his mom and dad's.
Jody was born on September 27, 1973. He graduated from West Iredell High School in 1991. He was a member of Yadkin Baptist Church and he worked at Purina until the decline in his health would no longer allow him to work. He loved his cat, Trey, who was his constant companion at home.
Jody is survived by his dad and mom, Edgar and Betty Jean Hudson of Statesville, NC, his maternal grandmother, Ruby Whitley of Rockingham, NC, brother Eddie and wife Neena of Fort Mill, SC, brother Ricky and his partner Jeremy Needham of Charlotte, NC, and the following nephews and nieces: Mitch Hudson and wife Mandy of Clover, SC, Mindy Hudson of Clover, SC, Megan Hudson of Fort Mill, SC, Maisie Cahill and husband Joe of Charleston, SC, Luke Hudson of Charlotte, NC and Rudy Hudson of Charlotte, NC.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of Yadkin Baptist Church from 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 1, 2014.
The funeral service will follow in the sanctuary of Yadkin Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Tony E. Bunton and Rev. J. B. Parker officiating. Burial will be held at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Yadkin Baptist Church 2980 Wilkesboro Hwy. Statesville, NC 28625.
