Joe C.Ferreira, age 83 of Ontario, California, passed peacefully on Friday June 28, 2013. He was born in Clearwater (Paramount), California, on March 13, 1930 to Jose and Carolina Ferreira. Joe grew up in Norwalk, California, on a dairy farm with his sisters Mary and Deolinda. He attended Excelsior High School in Norwalk. In 1948 he joined in the family dairy business, which then was named Joe C. Ferreira and Son. He served his country from 1951-1952 during the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart. On June 27, 1964, he married the love of his life, Leontina Alves. Upon the death of his father, he purchased the other half of the business from his mother and in 1972 relocated to Chino. His family continued to grow as did his business. He took great pride in his work and loved his cows. Joe enjoyed tinkering with his antique cars, but most of all Joe loved, cared for, and was devoted to his family.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Leontina; daughters, Lisa Anker (John), Michelle Valles (Stuart); son Joe C. Ferreira (Melissa); grandchildren, Jessica, Allyson, Robert, David, Lauren, Mark, Joe, and Kayla, as well as Joe's two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm, with rosary to follow at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Ave., Ontario, California. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 10:00am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 2713 Grove Avenue in Ontario, California.
