Remembering a Angel sent from God! ++ Jackie, Jennifer, Ed, and the Grandsons I know he is resting in peace!
After Traveling together,Teaching together, Eating together, and staying in the same Room together , for more than 10 years, you really get to know that person. That is why ++ I say Joe was and is a Angel sent from the Living God. THE GOD THAT SPOKE THE UNIVERSE INTO BEING, THIS WORLD AND EVERYTHING THAT IS IN IT.
I am proud to have had the opportunity to be Joe's business partner. After first meeting Joe at Living Hope Baptist Church, while meeting in the School before the Church was built. Joe and I realized together we had more than 70 years experience in and around traffic control. After working together on the Billy Gram convention we decided to become partners in United Transportation Training and incorporated our business adventure. Our students received a very wide experience base as we complemented each other in the class room.
After considering all the good things that happened during and after we started United Transportation Training I now realize Joe was truly a Angel sent from God Your Angel Joe was put into my life along with many others by God. Joe taught me more than I can ever explain I am thankful I had the opportunity and fortune to know him. You should all be very proud of your Angel Joe I well always cherish the time spent with this Giant Of A Man Angel sent from God.
Love Always

Cousin Joe was a real friend. I remember when we worked together at Lake Lavon Baptist Encampment in 1966 and 1967. Joe was a lifeguard and I helped him get snakes out of the swimming pool several times. Another job he was assigned was to help light the cross in the lake during a lakeside service that was held the last night of camp. There were many times that we felt like Joe was going to go up in flames just like the cross. You could tell how the lighting went by the sounds you could hear Joe making as he lit the cross. Lots of good memories were made at that camp.

I knew Joe his whole life. I was his only sibling-his older sister, Patricia Darnell Montgomery(Pat). We were very close. We couldn't have been more alike and yet very different. I am a liberal Democrat and Joe was a conservative Republican, but we loved the same food. We would often order the exact same thing at a restaurant. He was a typical little brother accident prone and into everything. Joe was saved and baptized very young. He was ordained for the ministry while he was still in high school, but went on to be involved in law enforcement most of his life. He was always involved in his church, missions, and "doing good". He was a good man who loved his family immediate and extended with all his heart. He was a gentle giant with a kind heart and gentle spirit. I loved him every day of his life, and will cherish his memory the rest of my life. I look forward to seeing him again one day in Heaven. Knowing Joe's there waiting will make death less scary for me.(He was always the "good" one). You will be in my heart forever baby brother. Watch over the rest of us until we join you one day. Pat ("Sister" as Daddy always called me.)

Jackie, My heart is broken at learning of Joe's passing. He was my partner in the early years - friend at church, college roommate, college commute-mate, work-mate. He was the primary influence on my decision to study law enforcement as a career. Now I regret that I haven't kept in touch with you. We will all miss Joe's influence in our lives. My thoughts, prayers, love.

Michael & Donna Martin

We want to express our sympathy to Jackie, Jennifer, Aunt Faye, Patricia and all of their families. Joe was not only my cousin, he was a great friend. We spent many good times together including Christmas, Easter, and summers at the May farm in the 50's, working together at Lake Lavon in the 60's playing yearly Thanksgiving “Turkey Bowls” in the 70's and 80's, talking about our children in the 90's, and laughing about our grandkids in the 2000's. He was the first cousin that my wife, Donna met while we were dating and made her feel comfortable and welcome in the large May family. He always welcomed us with that kind smile and strong handshake. We will miss his presence in our lives.

Thank you Father for the life of Mr. Montgomery. He was a blessing sent from you to help me and my family. His expertise is what helped in the clearing of my name in an accident I was involved in. Mr. Montgomery was one of the many blessings God put in my life at that time during my trial. It is my hope and prayer that someday I will see him again. May Christ welcome you with open arms and utter the words we long to hear.... "Well done good and faithful servent".

I had the pleasure of meeting Joe in February of this year. He assisted me at trial on a case that was going to be life altering for the gentleman charged, regardless of the outcome. Joe was an absolute professional and the type of honest witness that our justice system longs for at every trial. The short time I spent with Joe taught me more about professionalism and using the facts to seek truth than any other experience I had lived in my previous years of practicing law. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and I am forever grateful for my dealings with Joe. God bless.

My Deepest Condolences to the Family. Joe will forever live in the hearts and minds of thousands that he has taught, trained, and befriended over the years. He is a True Gift from God and will be Greatly Missed, but surely Never Forgotten. God Bless.

Joe was the instructor of my Advanced Accident Investigation class oh so many years ago. Then, he was the leader of two glorious weeks in College Station for Reconstruction. After that, he was the person I could call on if my brain got stuck and I needed a push. If it weren't for Joe and his passion and instruction methods, I would not be the investigator I have been the last 25 plus years. Thank you Joe!

I am so sorry for your loss. I wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Joe was a great Police Officer and Accident Investigations Instructor. I first met Joe in 1984 during an Advance Accident Class at UT-Dallas. Back then Joe made us work all the formula's long hand (no calculators). He was passionate about instruction and making sure Officers knew what they were doing and why it was important to be throrough in their accident investigations. I remained in contact with Joe after he retired from Dallas PD and went to work for TEEX. If I was ever stuck on a problem, I could alway call Joe and he would get me going again in the right direction. I will miss his compassion and friendship.. Mostly I'll miss the "War Stories". My prayer go out the family.

Joe was a wonderful person to know. I attended an advanced recon class taught by Joe and Rusty in early 90's in PG County Maryland. Joe was always there to help others not just in the AR field but in life. Joe was instrumental in helping others through out the world.
And he has touched many more indirectly through his teaching and ministry.
Till we meet again
