Joe Brown Toney, Sr., 91, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Pine Pointe Hospice Facility. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Melton, Dr. Aubrey Sheats and Mr. Nelson Barnes officiating. The family will meet friends from 5 – 7 p.m., Sunday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono. Memorial contributions may be made to Bellevue Baptist Church Building Fund, 5925 Price Road, Macon 31210 or to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon 31210.
Mr. Toney, son of the late Lonnie V. and Evie Lee Walters Toney, was born in Franklin County. He served with the U. S. Army during World War II and was an electrician retired from Keebler Bakery. Mr. Toney was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church where he served as Deacon Emeritus and was a member of the Pathfinders Sunday School Class.
He is survived by the family he cherished, his wife, Willa Toney of Macon; his children, Joe Brown (Jan H.) Toney, Jr. of Macon, Cheryl (Donnie) Lindsey of Juliette and Randy (Annette) Toney of Macon; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins and Alice S. Toney of Macon.

Randy,Annette,&Family... Was so sorry to hear of Mr. Toney's passing. He was such a kind person and friend to my Dad when they lived behind us. He will be missed for sure but the words of our Heavenly Father promises us that he is no longer suffering, his chains are gone...he's been set free. Our God,Our Savior has rescued him.. resting in the arms of Jesus. My prayers are with you all during this time.
