My Joey,
On November 17, 1984 you came into this world and changed all of our lives forever. From the first second I saw you, I loved you with all my heart and soul. You brought me so much joy that, sometimes, I thought my heart would burst.
You also brought me sorrow; but, without sorrow there could be no such thing as joy. Without cold, there is no hot; without high, there is no low; and without sorrow, there is no joy.
Watching you and your brother and now your kids grow up is the greatest gift I have ever received. To watch you play and to see your imagination grow as you grew older was a privilege for me to witness. Your relationship with your best animal friends "real" Roo Roo and "stuffed animal" Roo Roo began the shape of your personality and lead to the compassionate person you became in life.
You always looked out for the less fortunate in life. Whether it be a person in a wheel chair or born with an abnormality, you would go out of your way to make them feel comfortable in life. Your dream to become a registered nurse was never realized but the care you gave others provided the same gift.
I know that you loved your Mom, Trent, Shane, Christian, all of your family and me dearly and I know that you wish things could have been different so that we all spent more of our lives together.
You tried so hard to battle the demons that inhabited your brain. A brain with intellect so high and that moved so fast, it made it hard for you to keep up with yourself and your soul.
You are my daughter but you are also my friend. I could talk to you about things in my life that I could not talk with any other person about. You probably understood me better than anyone in the world.
Joey, I am so thankful for your time on this earth. You will be forever remembered in our hearts and our minds and I will love you for eternity.
Love,
Your Dad

I am so very saddened to hear about Joey's passing. Such a beautiful girl who loved and was loved by so many. Words cannot ever take away the emptiness that her passing brings, but please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
