JOHN EDWARD "ED" VANDERPOOL Passed from this life July 21, 2012. Ed was the fifth of nine children born to William Edward Vanderpool and Ethyl May Vanderpool in Hindsville, Arkansas on August 19, 1931. After having five children with wife Glorine, he later married Melba (Scism) and welcomed her two children to the family, making Ed the proud father of seven. He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Sandy Narron (Jim) in 2011. Surviving children are Wanda Rawlins (Chuck Trenary), Susie Vanderpool, Paula Womack, William Ed Vanderpool (Dianne) , Gaye Scism and Bryan Scism (Jan). Grandchildren are Gary, Randy, Bonnie,...

Bonnie, Tamra, Syrene, Angela, Cindy, Amanda, Jeffrey, Brooke, Jillian, Brittany and 16 great-grandkids and 1 great-great-grandson. Of the original 9 sibling one sister and one brother remain; iva Lee Evans and Paul Vanderpool of Huntsville, Arkansas. Ed was Brake and Front End Manager Leininger and Short Tires, Ontario, CA, for 30 years. He shared his love for God as a Minister at 3rd Ave.and 8th Street Church of Christ, Upland, CA for over 40 years. Ed enjoyed singing hymns with family and friends, gardening, carpentry and hosting his famous 'HOBO Party" that ran for 50 years. Pop was a "giant" among men and instilled love, honor, respect and integrity by example. He lived his faith unwaveringly. His family has great peace that he is at home with his Heavenly Father. Funeral services will be at Stone Funeral Home Upland, CA on July 30 1:00 PM.
