Houghland, John Dudley We are deeply saddened by the loss of John 'Jack' D. Houghland who passed on December 27th, 2012 with his family by his side. He was born in Vancouver, BC on February 24th, 1926. Jack had many interests including canoeing, fishing, gardening, dancing and lately watching his grandchildren grow up. He was involved in politics, the Masonic Lodge, the New West Quay Walkers, Veterans of the RCAF and helping others. Jack will be missed by his loving children, Brenda and her husband Jim, grandchildren Kristopher and Jacquoline, and Alan and his wife Nancy, and grandchildren Avin (Joel) and Tanis. We are deeply saddened by the loss of John 'Jack' D. Houghland who passed on December 27th, 2012 with his family by his side. He was born in Vancouver, BC on February 24th, 1926. Jack had many interests including canoeing, fishing, gardening, dancing and lately watching his grandchildren grow up. He was involved in politics, the Masonic Lodge, the New West Quay Walkers, Veterans of the RCAF and helping others. Jack will be missed by his loving children, Brenda and her husband Jim, grandchildren Kristopher and Jacquoline, and Alan and his wife Nancy, and grandchildren Avin (Joel) and Tanis. He will be dearly missed by his special long time friend, partner and fiancé, Ms. Cathy Bowsher, his sister Enid, his family, relatives and friends. The family wish to extend their thank you to the staff of Peace Arch Hospital for the care shown to Jack over this time. A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC on Friday, January 11th, 2013 at 10:00 am, followed by a reception in the Tea Lounge of the Funeral Home. Flowers gratefully declined, however, a donation in Jack's memory to the White Rock Hospice Society at Peace Arch Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.
