Of Annandale, passed away peacefully at Keough Senior Living, on November 8, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Eunice R. Fitzsimons and dear father of Karen M. Fitzsimons.
John was born in New Jersey on July 10, 1928. He proudly served in the US Army for nearly 30 years, retiring as a Colonel in 1979.
John's family would like to recognize the doctors and staff at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital and Keough Senior Living for the love and care they gave him in his time with them.
Friends welcome on Wednesday, November 15 from 2-6 pm at Demaine Funeral Home, Springfield. A Requiem Mass in his memory will be celebrated on Thursday, November 16 at 10 am at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Annandale. Interment with Full Military Honors will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.

We called him Fitz. He was with me in Germany in the 70's, in the Provost Marshal Office at the US Army Europe Headquarters and he worked with us for many years during his retirement to assure that the Retired MP Offices in the greater Washington area would be informed continually about our Military Police Family.
