He was born in Buckholts, Texas to John Wellington Young Sr. and Mary Laura Young. He spent many years of his youth on the family farm where he acquired values and lessons to impart to his family. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.Cherish the memories that you have from him, and may God comfort you in this most difficult time. Some of my best childhood memories include you, Pawpaw. From Wrigley's Doublemint gum every day after school, to to learning how to play solitaire, to you taking us to our first Major League Baseball game to watch the Astros, to just visiting with you and grandma coloring pictures in our coloring books for ya'll. And of course, I can't forget Easter Egg hunting. Even when we got a little "old" to be Easter Egg hunting you, Daddy, Uncle, and Uncle Donny would hide those eggs how ever many times we wanted to hunt them. And as we got older ya'll hid them in some pretty hard spots! Sorry about us not finding some of them, and you ended up finding them after they had gone bad doing yard work. I love you Pawpaw and miss you so much. Thank you for being the best Pawpaw any kid could have ever wanted. We'll see you again.

We will dearly miss you PaPa. The values and beliefs you instilled into us growing up made us the men and women we have become now that we have grown up. We thank you for being such a strong leading example for us. Sincerely Priscilla

I will always remember all the times PaPa would pick us up from school and everyday asked how school was and "Fine" was never the answer... He wanted to know what we learned, what we did in school, and how much homework we had and that always came first. But then he'd slip us a stick of the green double mint wrigleys gum before we got home, but Grandma wasn't to know we got gum everyday ;) We love you and will miss you so very much PaPa and you are so dearly loved by all of us.
Love,
Cilla
