John (J.D.) Alexander went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the age of 74. He was born April 23, 1937 to Roy and Louvie Hembree Alexander. He was married to the late Bedonnia Willoughby Alexander and retired from the University of Georgia.
He was a loving father to daughters, Donna L Smith of Commerce, Susan Russum of Danielsville, and Shonda Hill of Commerce; sons, Ronnie Alexander of Stafford, VA and Dale Alexander of Colbert. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosalee Kesler of Nicholson, Pearl Cronic of Commerce, and Katie Nix of Commerce; brother, Larry Alexander of Lexington, and a special son-in-law, Randy Smith that stayed by his side to the end.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday, June 22nd in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with Pastor Donna Arrwood. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Tuesday, June 21st at Bernstein.
