On Tuesday, October 11, 2011, Juan de Dios Mendibles Andrade (John M. Andrade) departed our world and is once again with his parents Porfirio and Eugenia and his sisters Ann Campus and Rose Quihuis. John was an amazing man; great husband to his wife Lupe Andrade, great father to his six children: Mary (David) Zaragoza, Eugenia Andrade, Alice (Emilio) Palacio, John Andrade, Toni (Kevin) Hodgkins, and Patty (Jaime) Ramirez. His three brothers Victor, Angel, and Porfirio also survive him. He had a big and loving family as 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren survive him. His grandson Juan Porfirio preceded John in death. John was a wonderful family man to all including cousins, tias, tios, nieces and nephews. Through his public service, ten years in the Air Force and 25 years in the Glendale Fire Department, he met many friends, who will surely miss him. Services will be held Monday, October 17, 2011 at West Resthaven Funeral Home 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale AZ 85301. A viewing from 5pm to 7pm and Rosary from 7pm to 8pm. Mass will be held October 18, 2011 at 10 am at OLPH Catholic Church 5614 W Orangewood, Glendale AZ 85301. Condolences may be made at www.westresthavenfuneralhome.com

Thank you to my cousins for sharing their papa with my brother and I. Tia Lupe thank you for looking after us when we were young. When my Tio Juan would come home from work we would stand in line for a hug and a kiss. He always have plenty of love to give. It made me so proud when we'd see him on his fire truck on the way to a call. I'm so very proud that you were my tio. Love you, May you rest in peace.

I was so sad when I heard about Uncle John. He was my Great-Great Uncle and I only met him once long ago. I knew he was my Uncle and I would always say "Hi Uncle John" every time I went by his house. My dad was named after him and I have his name too. I won't forget you Uncle John. I love you.

To the Andrade Family,
Cherish the memories that you have. I remember Captain Andrade as one of the most caring man that I have ever met. He taught the true value of customer service to the Glendale Fire Department. He took in every member as "His Son". His family always came first. He could cook one mean green chilly burro!
Rest in peace John.

You were a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, uncle but most of all you were my wonderful daddy. You will always have a special place in my heart and it will be with me for always. What you gave me was great memories and to be the best I can be, and I learned that from you. Some people put you at ease, John did that with out effort. As a boot coming on the Glendale Fire Department I was so lucky to be welcomed with the kind words "How are you my son" and was treated that way from then on. A great man.
