Union – John Wesley Borosky, Sr., 84, of Union, WV, formerly of Welch, WV, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Springfield Center in Lindside, WV.
Born May 29, 1928 in Tidewater, WV, he was the son of the late Mike and Rosa Colvard Borosky.
John lived most of his life in McDowell County, having resided in Union for the past twelve years. John was of the Protestant faith and had worked his entire life in the coal industry. He was the owner of Brown's Creek Mine Supply of Welch, WV from which he retired. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1946-1948. He was a member of many civic organizations and was devoted to serving his community.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Carolyn Neil, one son – Michael D. Borosky, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Sheila Borosky, 3 daughters – Jonna Kay "Katherine" Borosky of Pittsburgh, PA, Jennifer Coleman and husband Dale of Scott Depot, WV, Jo Ellen "Jodi" Tibbs and husband David of Fishersville, VA and one son – John Wesley Borosky, Jr. and wife Hillary of Waynesboro, VA. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for John will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel, 450 Courthouse Rd., Princeton, WV at 1:00 p.m. with Diane Hall and Ernest B. "Sonny" Gheen officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with John Wesley Borosky, Jr., Greg Coleman, Adam Tibbs, Dale Coleman, David Tibbs and Ralph Tinney serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
