John Wayne Culver, Sr. of Warrior, AL, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 15, 2012. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the American Legion in Guntersville, a longtime member of the Masons, and attended Auburn University and Jacksonville State "60's Group" Member. John was preceded in death by his grandparents: Joseph Lee Harden, Sr. and Stella Ernestine Harden; his parents: John Emmett Culver and Lee Ernestine Harden Culver; and his nephew, Michael Roger McGuire, II. He is survived by his loving spouse, Shirley; son, John Wayne Culver, Jr.; daughter, Tanya Patterson (Chip); 3 grandchildren: Victoria, Olivia,...
John Wayne Culver, Sr. of Warrior, AL, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 15, 2012. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the American Legion in Guntersville, a longtime member of the Masons, and attended Auburn University and Jacksonville State "60's Group" Member. John was preceded in death by his grandparents: Joseph Lee Harden, Sr. and Stella Ernestine Harden; his parents: John Emmett Culver and Lee Ernestine Harden Culver; and his nephew, Michael Roger McGuire, II. He is survived by his loving spouse, Shirley; son, John Wayne Culver, Jr.; daughter, Tanya Patterson (Chip); 3 grandchildren: Victoria, Olivia, and Trey Patterson; sister, Joy Culver McGuire (Mike); aunt, Pat Harden; his special friend, Bobby Mathews; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends. Visitation will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel on Monday, June 18, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 beginning at 11:00 AM in the Chapel, officiated by Brother David Norris with interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be: Jimmy Romine, John Ford, Bobby Mathews, Eddie Travis, Ken Drake, and Ronald Ford. Honorary Pall Bearers will be: Craig Ford and Michael McGuire.
