Dankos, John G. 84, passed peacefully Wednesday, August 21, 2013 with his devoted companion Karen Millican at his side. To all in the Dankos family, I am so sorry to learn of your father's passing. Mr. and Mrs. Dankos were supportive of the community in so many ways, going back to hosting Key Club meetings on Route 1 and later when I had the privilege of practicing law with Mark. You all are blessed. Take care.

Condolences to the Dankos family for your loss. I only knew John from my days as a young bartender at The Dominion Club. He was a very kind, generous man, my favorite member. He always had a kind word and was remarkably funny. I never forgot his charm and wit. Rest in peace Mr. Dankos.

My name is Muhammad Harisuddin. Mr Dankos knew me as Albert Harris. He gave me my first summer and after school job when I was 16yo back in 1961 at the restaurant on #1 Hwy in Glen Allen, Va. In hindsight, I learned a lot from this experience even though this wasn't the best of periods for "Black" employees. Mr Dankos along with his lovely wife Theresa, treated me well and I'm grateful. May he Rest in Peace and G-d forgive all of us our shortcomings and sins. If there is Restaurant in heaven, Mr Dankos will probably be the owner/manager.

I feel as though my father has passed away - again...

Holly and Tracy - my family didn't know you well, but the "boys" will remember us (fondly, I hope.)

"Uncle" John (as he'll ALWAYS be to me) lived a good, long life. I will never forget being at my father's funeral in West Virginia, when who should walk in but your father. I understand he couldn't stand to go with us to the cemetary and left immediately after the service, but he was THERE for us!

He was the "Barney Rubble" to my father's "Fred Flintstone." We had ALL the holidays together, as our families all lived out of state.

Please know how much I loved him! My condolences to all of the family.

A wonderful man has passed away and heaven has indeed opened its 'pearly gates' for yet another Angel. God said "enough, come on home and rest". He most definitely had a very full, adventurous life and touched oh so many lives. We are personally honored and feel very blessed to have had John Dankos, and his entire family, in our life and we believe his legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren. Blessings be to John as he now rests in God's arms; love, prayers and blessings to the Dankos Family.
