John (Johnny) Thomas Durio departed this earth on Wednesday, Feburary 15, 2012. He was 67 years old. He was born in New Orleans, La. on February 12, 1945 to the late Harold Edward Durio and the late Ruth Shaw Durio. He is survived by his brother Harold Jr. and the late William (Billy) and late Richard Durio. He is also survived by his loving wife, Susan McCarthy Durio, step son William W. Faciane, step daughter Amiee Faciane Carnley. He is survived by his Step Mother Rita Edler Durio, step brother Merlin Edler, step sisters Betty St. John and Darlene Bouvier. John (Johnny) Thomas Durio departed this earth on Wednesday, Feburary 15, 2012. He was 67 years old. He was born in New Orleans, La. on February 12, 1945 to the late Harold Edward Durio and the late Ruth Shaw Durio. He is survived by his brother Harold Jr. and the late William (Billy) and late Richard Durio. He is also survived by his loving wife, Susan McCarthy Durio, step son William W. Faciane, step daughter Amiee Faciane Carnley. He is survived by his Step Mother Rita Edler Durio, step brother Merlin Edler, step sisters Betty St. John and Darlene Bouvier. He is preceded in death by his step brother Frank Edler. Johnny was a graduate of Alice Fortier High School. Following high school he worked at the family Shell station on Washington and Broad St. Following the closing of the family business he worked free lance as a general contractor. Johnny was known for his love of the outdoors and frequent trips "out west." Johnny was the epitome of the Renaissance man. He loved photography, playing his various musical instruments, writing and composing his own music, and was a naturalist at heart. His light, joy and presence will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Relatives and friends of the family are welcome to attend a memorial service in the Chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St.; on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 5:00 am. Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm. Until service time.Condolences may be expressed online at www.schoencanalstreet.com
