HANNAH
John James
Aug. 17, 1943 – Feb. 13, 2013

John James Hannah passed away unexpectedly on February 13, 2013, at Abbotsford Hospital. He will be missed by his wife of 43 years Jae, son Callum, daughter Samantha, son-in-law Hank, granddaughter Madeline, and by family in Scotland and England: his mother Caroline, his sisters Elaine and Rita, and his brothers Samuel and Edward. John also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and great friends. John is predeceased by his father Sam, his sister Caroline, and his brother Tommy.
John was born in Falkirk, Scotland, and moved to Canada in 1966. For all of his life he was a master carpenter. He loved fishing and hunting, and he was a snare drummer in the Abbotsford Legion Pipe Band for many years. A memorial service and open house will be held at the family home in Abbotsford on February 23, 2013 at 1pm.

I had the great pleasure to work with John when we did the Pipefitter's Union Building.

John was a true tradesman and helped make the job a great place. He even got me to eat Haggis, which was no mean feat as I had avoided the stuff for nearly 60 years.

Being a construction worker I am out of town and will not be able to attend his service. But I will say a prayer for John and his family that day.

May John's family take strength from the life of the fine man that they knew and loved.

Yours truly,

Ken Hallgren
