After battling lung cancer, Jerry Kinzer passed away on July 21, 2015, at the Hospice House of Williamsburg. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 26, 1941, and graduated from West High School in 1958. He obtained a bachelor's degree from Miami University of Ohio in 1963 and a master's degree, with honors, from Case Western Reserve University in 1969. During military service in the U.S. Army, he was assigned to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense Systems Analysis and was stationed at the Pentagon where he served his country during the Vietnam War.
Following his professional career as a management consultant, corporate financial officer and business owner, he and his wife, Merle, retired to the Williamsburg, Virginia area in 2005 to be near his children and grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his by loving wife Merle, his two sons, Michael and Kenneth, their mother Eileen, his daughter-in-law Beverly, and his three grandchildren Sean, Grace and Declan.
Jerry's ashes will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery with military honors at a later date. A remembrance luncheon will follow the interment. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to Hospice House of Williamsburg or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.nelsencares.com.
