John Liles Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 17, 2017.

John David Liles, 63, passed away in his San Antonio, Texas home on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. He was born to Jerald Dell Liles and Mary Lynn Gonzales Liles on April 14, 1954 in Galena Park, Texas. He married Ginger Blaha on January 21, 1984 in Mertzon, Texas. John always wanted the best for his family; his children and grandsons were the light of his life. He was a man of Christian faith and strong will, who was competitive and proud of his accomplishments. John worked many years in construction before earning his Associates and becoming an electronics technician. John was extremely outgoing and never met a stranger. He was a very humorous person who loved to laugh. John enjoyed spending time with those he loved: playing board games, darts, and sports with family and friends. John also enjoyed riding his motorcycle whenever possible, and never went a day without listening to his classic rock music collection.

Survivors include his wife, Ginger Liles; daughters, Kristen Paige Tomblin, Kimberly Sue Liles, and Kayla Diane Liles; son-in-law, Gary Lynn Tomblin, II; grandsons, Gary Lynn Tomblin, III, and Mason Scott Tomblin; mother, Mary Lynn Gonzales Liles; father, Jerald Dell Liles and his wife, Cary Liles; sister, Linda Ann Mack and her husband, Ron Mack; nephews, Chase Mack and Colton Mack; and a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be a time of visitation from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Johnson's Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories, send condolences and sign the online guestbook at www.johnsons-funeralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org . Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home of San Angelo, Texas.

I'll never forget how welcoming you were the first time we met, John. Kim and I had known each other for years, and as I headed over to your house we had been laughing as we compared how weird and out of control each of our parents are. Upon entering your home, it was as if you and I had known each other for ages. From your quick wit to huge heart, I always felt welcome and loved when I had visited. Our talks ranging from motorcycles to life itself that we shared in your garage were inciteful and full of humor. Even though we did not truly get to know one another on a deep level, I treasured my time at the Liles household. You were taken from us way before anyone was ready, and replacing the huge hole in our hearts will be a challenge to say the least. Rest In Peace John
